At HippoMini we are in close dialogue with several municipalities about delivering products to FabLabs. At FabLearn Europe we demo 3D printers, handheld scanners, etc. These products are ideal for any FabLab and we are currently testing the educational value of combining them with drawing pads/tablets, drones, Sphero, Sugru, Makey Makey, Raspberri Pi and Arduino .

The vision for us at HippoMini is to bring 3D technologies into the school curriculum so that children from an early stage can train their spatial understanding and boost their creative process. 3D printing has the great advantage that the kids end up with a physical product that they can hold in their hands. We expect that in the near future FabLabs will be used actively in the math, visual arts and the new craft & design classes.

At HippoMini we aim to be Denmark’s most serious and complete supplier of digital learning materials for communities, institutions and schools. For many educators and teachers this is a whole new field. ‘Plug and Play ‘ – a successful focus on digital learning materials requires that educators and teachers, who are to use them are properly dressed for the challenge. This is best achieved by delivering the products with a thorough instruction, accompanied by a rich inspirational catalog, so that they quickly become a natural part of the work with the children.
