Using Educational Technology to Support a Shift Towards Product Based Education
This demonstration is designed for classroom educators to experience the methods and thoughts that support the Edutech Mindset Model that is being implemented in the Danish municipal primary and lower-secondary school: “Antvorskov Skole”. The cases focus on the preparations, designs and works of the students and their teachers as they work through a 14 day full week project and the current didactic results (not yet published) that was achieved.
The Demo
The goal of the demonstration is to debate the results achieved so far and to ask questions about a broader uptake of the methods used in Edutechlab.dk. The demonstration will give a short introduction to the terms and tools of EdutechLab.dk. The EduTech Mindset Model will be distributed and an example of implementation will be evaluated. Current results (unpublished) showing the teachers and the students reactions to the use of educational technology, and the Edutech model of Mindset, as well as the research methods employed, will be presented.
Young students from Antvorskov Skole will present their projects and they will be ready to answer questions (with translational aid) regarding their experiences of the paradigmatic shift that the EduTechLab brings to their education. The young students will engage with participants in their work as well as guide hands-on experiences with the various technologies.
Finally, we will engage in discussions regarding the uptake of educational technology in schools and the possibilities and challenges one faces implementing these in a primary and lower-secondary schools.
