RasberryPod

The Raspberry Pi is a single-board computer developed in the UK by the Raspberry Pi Foundation with the intention of stimulating the teaching of basic computer science in schools.

The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It’s a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, AND a lot of other things. The goal is to let the students work WITH the computer more than AT the computer, to design and build stuff, programming, control devices and robots, etc. But, for teachers it may be a challenge to work with components, cables, hardware and adapters just to get started with the Raspberry Pi.

To encounter this challenge, Karin Høgh from PodConsult developed the RaspberryPod, the world’s only complete Raspberry Pi kit with hdmi-screen built primarily for schools and education. Karin Høgh will demonstrate the hardware and software, she will show how Scratch and Python – the most common programming languages, can be learned and used from primary schools to universities. She will perform and show a number of experiments based on Raspberry Pi, Makey Makey, Lego wedo, etc. to show how RaspberryPod can make it easier to implement programming, crafting, entrepreneurship and design into education.
